THE DNC COMES TO THE SOUTH!!!
The Democratic National Committee will have its southern caucus meeting in Atlanta, Georgia on January 8th 2004 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel . The topic of discussion will be the DNC Chair. Is it possible that former Dallas, Texas Mayor Ron Kirk will impress enough members to become DNC chair? It is also possible that former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb will have a great deal of support, particularly from African Americans within the DNC. I am nervously waiting to see how the election for the chair turns out in February. Hopefully everyone will be happy with this years election and it goes with fewer problems than the 2001 DNC chair election with Maynard Jackson and Terry Mcaullife.
But Back to the Southern Caucus meeting.....
There will be a breakfast for the black southern democrats that morning and that evening, Mayor Shirley Franklin will be hosting a reception.
